Porsche Cayenne

The Porsche Cayenne is a mid size Luxury SUV. It has been on the sellers market since 2002. It is actually the first V8 engine that was built by the company since 1995 when the Porsche 928 was eventually discontinued. Even the sales of the Cayenne have been very steady with over 100,000 sold since 2005. It became Porsche’s best selling car in North America with 40 percent of those SUV’s were being sold here. But in 2006 the sale craze of the only Porsche SUV had slowed and because of still declining sales, there was no 2007 model manufactured by the 2008 version is being designed.

These turbochargers SUV had a very high performance especially for a sports utility vehicle. To see how much of a high performance vehicle it is, the same amount of time it took to get to 60 miles per hours equaled that of the Porsche Boxster S which was about 5.5 seconds. The new Tequipment which is a special version coming out soon will be faster. The specs on the Cayenne were engine size was 3.6 for a V6 engine and a 4.8 for a V8 engine.  The transmission was a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic.

There was a Cayenne Turbo S which was introduced at the 2006 LA Auto Show to compete with the Mercedes Benz ML63 AMG which had a 510 hp engine and the Turbo S had a 520 hp/ The Turbo S was hailed as the second fastest Porsche on the road. At the IAA 2005, the company had announced it will manufacture its own version of a Hybrid Cayenne before the year 2010. There are still some great cars on the road made by Porsche and many people will be waiting for the 2008 version of the Cayenne.
